When you drive on the interstate for 7+ hours in a day and your only companion is a dog that is as quiet as a mouse, you have lots of time with your thoughts. I found myself thinking of the different quilt shops I have seen and visited and what makes them each so unique. there really are different flavors of quilt shops, some are wool only, some center on pre-cuts only, some are fabric only with little to no notions/rulers. Some never have sales and some have only sale pricing. Some are consistently low prices.
What makes the differences?

- Customer wants & needs
- Business model - or lack of
- Strategy
- Overhead costs
- Soaring freight charges
